TopicMarty Supreme Chalamet Safdie Positive

Timothée Chalamet winning the Golden Globe for Marty Supreme is the best thing to happen to cinema this year. Finally, we are rewarding a performance that is purely unhinged energy instead of 'Oscar bait' weeping. His portrayal of Marty Mauser is electric—he talks a mile a minute, sweats through 50 shirts, and makes ping-pong feel like life or death. Josh Safdie has created a masterpiece of anxiety. If you couldn't handle the stress of Uncut Gems, stay home, but don't call it 'bad' just because your heart rate went up. This is cinema.

Finally, Leonardo DiCaprio wins for a role where he isn't freezing to death or fighting a bear. Seeing him play a 'washed-up revolutionary dad' in One Battle After Another was the most refreshing performance of his career. He was actually funny! It proves he doesn't need to suffer to be a great actor. The chemistry with Teyana Taylor was electric. Give him the Oscar now.

The success of this movie depends entirely on the chemistry between Milo and Teagan. Tangled is the best Disney romance because the banter is top-tier. I haven't seen them interact before, so I'm nervous. Teagan was super serious in Titans. Can she do the bubbly, high-energy Rapunzel? Casting is only half the battle; if they don't have that spark, the movie dies.

Finally, Disney actually listened to the fans! Milo Manheim was born to play Flynn Rider. He has the charm, the comedic timing, and the musical theater chops from Zombies to actually pull this off. I was so scared they were going to cast a random serious actor who can't sing. And Teagan Croft as Rapunzel? Unexpected, but she looks exactly like the cartoon. For the first time in years, I am actually excited for a live-action remake. Don't mess this up, Disney.

The way the media is covering this is disgusting. We have TMZ flying drones over the Brentwood house and TikTok sleuths analyzing Nick Reiner’s old interviews for 'clues.' Can we give the rest of the family 5 minutes to grieve? Rob Reiner was a giant of cinema, and his obituary is being turned into a 'Netflix True Crime' pilot pitch in real-time. We are watching the monetization of a family's annihilation. If you are clicking on those 'crime scene photo' leaks, you are part of the problem.

Is anyone else noticed the timing? Spinal Tap II comes out in September, bombs at the box office, and three months later the director is dead? It feels like the whole project was cursed from the start. The movie was delayed, the reviews were mixed, and now this. It casts such a dark shadow over what should have been a fun nostalgia trip. I don't think I can ever watch This Is Spinal Tap again without thinking about the crime scene. They should cancel the 'Final Finale' release immediately out of respect. #Supernatural #Conspiracy

I can't even process the news about Nick Reiner. We all knew he had struggles (he wrote Being Charlie about it!), but for it to end like this? It’s the darkest Hollywood tragedy since Phil Hartman. Rob Reiner gave us The Princess Bride and Stand By Me—stories about heart and friendship—and to die in such a violent, hateful way at the hands of his own son is Shakespearean. The industry needs to stop glamorizing 'troubled artist' kids and actually intervene before it gets to this point. It’s sickening.
TopicWill Byers Ending Positive

People screaming about 'Byler' are watching a different show. Stranger Things is an 80s homage; the jock/nerd gets the girl. That is the trope. Will's coming out scene to Jonathan was beautiful and realistic for 1987. It wasn't about a romance; it was about self-acceptance in a time when being gay was dangerous. Expecting a full-blown gay romance in small-town Indiana in the 80s was always a fantasy. The writers gave him peace and a future in New York, which is the best ending he could get.

Will Byers was supposed to be the central character. The show started with him, it should have ended with him. Instead, he spent the entire final season being a background extra for Eleven's messianic complex. His connection to Vecna was barely utilized until the final battle, and even then, it felt like a plot device rather than character growth. He didn't get a hero moment; he just got trauma. After ten years of waiting, Will deserved to be the saviour of Hawkins, not just the victim.

I am actually cancelling my Netflix subscription over this. You cannot spend four seasons coding Will and Mike as soulmates, having Will paint that painting, and giving us all those longing looks just to have Mike end up with Eleven in a suburban nightmare. It is textbook queerbaiting. They used the gay audience for engagement and then chickened out at the last second to give the locals a 'safe' ending. Will crying in the van in Season 4 meant nothing. The Duffer Brothers are cowards

I will be the first to admit I was terrified when they cast Ariana Grande as Glinda. I thought it was just stunt casting for pop fans. But oh my god, I was wrong. She completely disappears into the role. Her comedic timing, the operatic vocals, the chemistry with Cynthia Erivo—it is perfection. She isn't playing a pop star; she is playing a theater icon. If she doesn't get at least a Golden Globe nomination for 'Popular,' the system is rigged. She was born to play this role

Gatekeeping art is over. AI generators like Midjourney are the printing press of our time. They allow people with incredible imaginations but no manual dexterity to finally express themselves visually. History is full of people screaming that photography wasn't 'real art' or that Photoshop was 'cheating.' This is just the next tool. The human soul is in the prompting and the curation. If your art can be replaced by a machine in 5 seconds, maybe it wasn't that original to begin with.
