We need to talk about Teyana Taylor. She completely stole the movie from Leo. Winning Best Supporting Actress was the bare minimum. Her transition from music/choreography to elite acting is insane. She played 'Perfidia' with so much rage and style. If she doesn't get the Oscar nomination, we riot.

The Golden Globes awarding a movie that flopped this hard is why nobody takes awards shows seriously anymore. One Battle After Another made $206 million on a $300 million budget. It was a financial disaster because general audiences were confused by the marketing. Critics love it because it's 'Paul Thomas Anderson,' but regular people found it chaotic and too long (2h 50m). It’s another example of Hollywood patting itself on the back for movies nobody watched.

Finally, Leonardo DiCaprio wins for a role where he isn't freezing to death or fighting a bear. Seeing him play a 'washed-up revolutionary dad' in One Battle After Another was the most refreshing performance of his career. He was actually funny! It proves he doesn't need to suffer to be a great actor. The chemistry with Teyana Taylor was electric. Give him the Oscar now.
