Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2026

At Peanion, we value your trust. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, profile image, and bio.
  • Content: Opinions, reviews, comments, photos, and videos you post.
  • Communications: Content of messages you send to us or other users.

We also automatically collect usage data:

  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Device Information: Hardware model and operating system.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform.
  • Process your reviews and display them to the community.
  • Monitor and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam.
  • Personalize your feed based on topics you follow or enthuse.

3. Public Content

Peanion is a public platform. When you post an opinion, review, or comment, it is visible to the public. Search engines (like Google) may index this content. You should not post personal information (like addresses or phone numbers) in your public opinions.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • With Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, and email services that help run our platform.
  • Legal Compliance: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of users.
  • Publicly: As described above, your posts are shared with the public.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

You have the right to request the deletion of your account. However, specific rules apply to public content you have created to preserve the integrity of the community discussions.

The "Right to Be Forgotten" vs. Public Record

If you delete your account or specific posts that have received interaction (replies, likes, etc.), we utilize an Anonymization Process ("Incognito Mode") rather than deletion.

  • What gets deleted: Your association with the content. Your username, handle, and profile image are permanently removed from the post.
  • What remains: The text/media of the opinion or review remains visible, labeled as "Anonymous User".
  • Why? This ensures that conversations remain readable and that review scores for businesses remain accurate.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to maintain your login session and remember your theme preferences (Light/Dark mode). By using Peanion, you consent to the use of these necessary cookies.
